The Emperor Is Coming To Star Wars Celebration Chicago, Along With Other Guests

Ian McDiarmid, the actor who portrayed the much loved galactic mastermind Palpatine, the so called “phantom menace behind the rise of the evil Galactic Empire, transforming from the manipulative, scheming senator from Naboo into the ghastly cloaked figure of Darth Sidious and later Emperor, from Episodes I through VI will join fans at Star Wars Celebration Chicago this April. (Though he won’t be dressed like that, unfortunately)

McDiarmid, will also be joined by Brian Herring, half of the puppeteering team who operated BB-8 as well as other creatures and characters seen throughout the sequel trilogy.

Veteran voice actor Mark Dodson, who helped bring Jabba the Hutt’s cackling court jester Salacious B. Crumb to life in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi along with providing vocals for other Star Wars characters such as stormtroopers and aliens, will also be attending the Celebration. Mark Dodson was also voiced the cackling gremlins from the Gremlins franchise. (So there’s something else to talk about with him.)

The trio are just the latest in a long line of most impressive Star Wars talent slated for the Topps autograph area, including Star Wars legend Peter Mayhew, and many more. You can purchase your autograph tickets beginning this Wednesday, February 13, at noon PST.

Star Wars Celebration Chicago will take place April 11-15 at McCormick Place.
