In a new set video (thanks to the folks over at MakingStarWars.net) reveal on set production of the first-ever live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. With both Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok & What We Do In The Shadows), Jon Favreau (Iron Man & Chef) and Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars & Star Wars: Rebels) on set apparently directing the season finale of The Mandalorian.
Along with a few unofficially released photos giving fans a glimpse of the set from the show, including what looks like a a couple of Storm Troopers and possibly a Rogue One Death Trooper.
As some fans will already know, the Mandalorian takes place a few years after the events of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Meaning the Battle of Jakku has took place and the Galactic Civil War is over. The era of the Empire is over, and the era of the New Republic has begun. But it looks like some parts of the old Empire haven’t yet gone quietly into that long goodnight. This was a plot point in many Legends books, with Remnants of the Old Empire still fighting, years after the Battle of Endor. Though this would usually lead to some infighting.
Now if you don’t want to see anything to do with The Mandalorian, and want to go in as fresh as possible, this is your warning. As what follows is Jason Ward’s set video along with the unofficial photos from his Site, MakingStarWars.net. You have been warned. Okay, let’s proceed.
