This is a bit of fun. Not to be taken seriously. Nothing confirmed by LucasFilm or John Carpenter. Just a daft little theory that in a way connects these two Franchises: Star Wars & Halloween. Hence the title, a BS Theory. But what (or should I say who) connects them?
Given that it’s Halloween and that there is also a brand new Halloween film out. Let’s have abit of spooky Halloween fun, with a Star Wars twist.
So what does Michael Myers have too do with Star Wars? Well the answer to that is Boba Fett. Woah, woah, I know what your thinking, what does the greatest bounty hunter in the Galaxy have to do with the evil, almost supernatural force of nature Michael Myers?
Okay, we all know that the Star Wars is set in a Galaxy a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Now Boba Fett, he’s a bounty hunter. And what makes him unique (like his father) is his armour. In both Canon & Legends his armour is that of Mandalorian design.
Now there’s the armour, and then there’s the clothing beneath the armour. Which is also armour too. As it’s a Reinforced Armour Mesh Battle Suit. Which is quite tough. This Mesh Battle Suit is also able to block poisons and corrosives. So quite a handy suit to wear.
So we’ve all seen Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (if you haven’t, why? Why haven’t you?) and the Battle of the Great Pit of Carkoon in the opening third of the movie. During this battle, Boba Fett gets involved, fighting Luke Skwalker. And there’s a moment where the bounty hunter is about to shoot at Skywalker, but is thwarted accidentally by a blind Han Solo. Striking his jet pack and sending Boba face first into Jabba’s sail barge before falling into the mouth of the Sarlacc.
Yes, the “greatest” bounty hunter in the galaxy is defeated by a blind man with a pole.
This is the last we see of Boba Fett. Especially now in Canon. In Legends he gets out, and funnily enough falls into it again. But in Canon (thus far) that’s it. This is the last we see of him. Now his armour is found later by Jawas, but outside of the Sarlacc. But what happened to Boba Fett? And what does this have to do with Michael Myers from Halloween?
Well if his armour & helmet were found and no body, you know what that means, right? When he fell into the Sarlacc, he wasn’t eaten. But instead fell through a rip in space time. (Ohh come on, Doctor Who does it all the time.) He’s stripped of his armour, helmet and jetpack as he falls through but the Mesh Battle Suit remains.
And where does Boba land? Illinois during the early 70’s. Now he’s on a strange new world, with only the clothes he has on his back and his skills. But this is a chance for a new beginning. A fresh start. So like his father, a simple man just trying to make his way in the universe. He does that. A simple life. He has skills with technology (advance technology) so he decides to become a mechanic and gets a job at Phelps Garage. Though he does fear being now found on a “primitive world. So after gaining enough money, he gets plastic surgery. To chance his appearance. Now he can truly have the life of a simple man just trying to make his way in the universe. And over the years, his Mesh Battle Suit gets dirtier and dirtier with him being a mechanic. In fact offering him some protection in that field. Not only was he the best bounty hunter in the galaxy, but also becoming one of the best mechanic’s in Illinois.
But then came October 31st 1978.
Unknown to Boba, the night before evil had escaped Smith’s Grove Sanitarium. That evil being Michael Myers, who 15 years previously murdered his older sister on Halloween night back in 1963 and that his comatose state since was a conscious act. His own Doctor Samuel Loomis knowing full well that he was going back home to Haddonfield, Illinois.
(A bit of trivia for you, Star Wars actors Peter Cushing & Christoper Lee were offered the role of Loomis before Donald Pleasence was cast. With Christopher Lee later saying it was one of his biggest regrets turning it down.)
At some point during the day, Boba had made a quick pit stop 73 miles outside of Haddonfield to take a leak behind some bushes near a railway line. Parking past a phone booth, he got out of his truck to relieve himself. And while finishing his business a goods train speeds past. With the sound of the train masking the sound of someone creeping up behind him. Boba has no idea standing right behind him is Michael, who processed to grab the ex-bounty hunter from the back of the head, breaking his neck violently and effortlessly. Michael then strips Boba’s lifeless body of his clothes before dumping both the body and his sanitarium gown.
Now Michael Myers is in possession of Mandalorian Reinforced Armour Mesh Battle Suit.
While it has become dirty over the many years Boba was wearing it for as a mechanic, it is still as tough as it was before he fell into the Sarlacc. And this is how and why Michael Myers can not die. He’s wearing a Mandalorian Reinforced Armour Mesh Battle Suit. Stabbing him isn’t going to work while he’s wearing it. And either would shooting him.
Six times. His own doctor shot him six times. And after falling from the first story bedroom, does he die? No, he gets up and disappears into the night. As if it was nothing. Walks it off.
Ohh, I’m well aware of the continuity (and continuity issues regarding timelines) of Halloween and it’s sequels. I’m ignoring the Rob Zombie remake and sequel as this bullsh*t theory doesn’t exactly work of it. But whether it’s Halloween 2, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers & Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers or Halloween 2, Halloween: H20 & Halloween: Resurrection or the latest timeline Halloween (2018) the Mandalorian Reinforced Armour Mesh Battle Suit protects him.
Whether is stab wounds, vehicular injury, fire, electrocution, or even a police firing squad.
It protects him. And if he loses it. He will track it down and don it again as seen in both Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers & the latest Halloween (2018). He’ll brutally murder whoever has it, to get it back. Call it a lucky charm.
But that’s it, my bullsh*t theory on how the Star Wars franchise & Halloween franchise take place within the same universe. Nothing to be taken seriously, just a bit of silly Halloween fun.
With that said, have a happy Halloween folks, and don’t forget to be in front of your TV sets for the Horrorthon, followed by the Big Giveaway at nine. Don’t miss it. And don’t forget to wear your masks. The clock is ticking. It’s almost time…….
