During the Star Wars Publishing panel at San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that Star Wars author Claudia Gray (known for writing: Lost Stars, Bloodline, Leia, Princess of Alderaan and ironically the short story from the novel From a Certain Point of View entitled Master and Apprentice) will be writing an all new Del Rey novel titled Star Wars: Master And Apprentice. The novel will place the story spotlight on the skilled Jedi tandem of Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Not much is known about the story of the upcoming novel part from that it will be set before the events of Episode I: The Phantom Menace and will involve Qui Gon Jinn and his apprentice/padawan (which ever term you prefer) on a dangerous mission for a Jedi. Sounds exciting. A Prequel to the Prequel. The release date is unknown at this time.
Qui Gin & Obi Wan weren’t the only two characters to get a new novel either. As E.K. Johnston (writer of the 2016 novel Ahsoka) will be writing a novel on Padmé Amidala entitled Queen’s Shadow, which Johnston describes as “the story of Padmé changing from a queen to a senator.”
Queen’s Shadow be set between Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
According to StarWars.com, Queen’s Shadow will hit stores next year on March 5th, 2019.
