Hold up, Star Wars fans, LucasFilm Says Multiple Standalone Films ARE Still In Development

ABC News (which is owned by Disney) is reporting that the cancellation of future standalone films is inaccurate. Such as the rumoured Obi Wan Kenobi movie and Boba Fett movie.

On Thursday just gone sources were reporting that Lucasfilm had put all Stanalone films on hold due to of Solo: A Star Wars Story under preforming at the Box Office. This news was originally reported by Collider.

Lucasfilm has informed ABC News that there are still “multiple” Star Wars films currently in development that have not been officially announced. That those projects are still moving forward, separate from an already announced Star Wars Trilogy by Episode VIII director Rian Johnson, along with another series of movies from Game of Thrones producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

So you can sigh a breath of relief, for now folks. As we might still be getting that Kenobi movie after all. Along with Boba Fett, though personally like Solo, I’ll see it but I’m not hyped. But if set after the events of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, that will peak my interest a little more. We probably won’t get an Official announcement on either Kenobi or Boba Fett until next years Star Wars Celebration in Chicago next April, but that’s just my guess.

Solo: A Star Wars Story has so far has grossed $199,319,870 at the Domestic Box Office. Totalling to $346,422,698 Worldwide in 29 days.
